Old Books

Rebecca Sower's blog is always full of sweet and simple ideas. With a red ribbon I tied an old German hymnbook and an Old Book of Common Prayer from the Church of England. A bit of greenery clipped from my yard and a crocheted doily and voilà, a pretty vignette for a living room end table.

I read about this book tag over at A Haven for Vee and since I love books...here goes.

The rules of this tag are these:
1. Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share seven random and/or weird book facts about yourself.
3. Tag seven random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. My younger sister and brother say their only memories of me in our childhood involve me with my nose in a book.

2. When I'm really stressed and have a lot to do, instead of doing, I'll sit down with a book for an hour and when I stop I'm completely refreshed and ready to tackle my tasks.

3. I have favourite books for different seasons. In summer I like to read summery books - Frenchman's Creek by Daphne DuMaurier is one. Parts of Jan Karon's books have great summery scenes. Wintery books include parts of Anne of Green Gables, and LM Montgomery's Blue Castle - maybe one of my most favourite books.

4. I read really, really fast and hate to see a book end. It's hard to find a book fat enough for me. Gone with the Wind was pretty good. I like sequels, but not if the story is strained.

5. When I read about food, I like to imagine up a recipe. The Little House books are good for that, and Rosamunde Pilcher's books.

6. Jane Austen's books are not on my favourites list. Why, I do not know because I enjoy reading the classics.

7. I have several books on the go at once. Currently, Each Man's Son by Hugh MacLennan and Marie Chapdelaine by Louis Hémon (in French).

I'm not tagging anyone in particular, but if you love to read, I'd love to hear about it. If you do the tag, let me know so I can come visit you.
